The Problem

Many young adults lack a purpose, which can lead them into a bad direction in life. Combined with the lacking of proper social skills, career guidance, literacy, financial responsibility, and time management, the struggle can grow into something more severe.

Many of these struggles could have been avoided if our young adults were able to better identify with who they are on the inside, and why they are so important to the world that they live in. It is common that these young adults face judgmental criticism, and they are blamed for the struggles that they face in their life. When these young adults struggle to find understanding and compassion it leaves them feeling unloved, unwanted, and it does nothing to encourage them to succeed in life.

Many young people talk of lacking purpose and meaning in life. They often lack helpful role models, feeling that the world in which they live bears little or no resemblance to that from which their parents emerged. - ACU National

Ignoring the problem doesn’t make it go away, it only enables it to grow and to further destroy the lives of these young adults. Studies show that if we continue to sit back and do nothing at all, the problem will only continue to increase.

Every year 1.1 million students drop out of high school in the United States alone., That’s 1 student every 26 seconds or 7,000 students a day. - Bureau of Justice Statics

The problems that young women face today

Across racial and ethnic groups, female dropouts are substantially less likely to be employed than female students who finish high school. Overall, 30% of female adults who completed high school were unemployed, compared to 47% of adult females who dropped out. -National Women Law Center

The problems that young men face today

Experience disparities in school that lowers self-estem & increases anger.

Low-income students are more likely to be involved in “in-school” arrest.

84% of males under the age of 25 return to prison within 5 years of release.
